This comes after a body of a woman was found in a Kiosk on Sunday morning just a day after the woman was reported missing.

Kisii County police commander Hassan Abdi confirmed the incident and said the woman might have been drunk when she was raped before being killed.

Hassan said locals said the woman was spotted by some two men heading to a local bar.

"The body of the woman was found naked. We suspect that she was drunk when the attackers raped and killed her. Women should ensure that they drink responsibly," he said.

Abdi called on members of the public to cooperate with police officers and arrest the killers.

“Members of the public should volunteer information to police officers to help in arresting the suspects,” he added.

The police commander reiterated that no one is above the law to be allowed to commit crimes.

"We are all under the law and protected by the constitution. Anyone violating the law of the land will be dealt with accordingly. Police will not stop war against crime until criminals are flushed out from their hiding places," he stated.
