Police in Subukia are looking for a young man who is accused of assaulting his father. According to Nakuru police boss Bernard Kioko, the accused came home late while drunk and assaulted his father after he restrained his other family members from serving him with food. Addressing journalists in his office on Thursday, Kioko said that 25-year-old Meshack Muchina, whose parents claim is a drug addict, came home at 11pm on Tuesday and violently demanded for a meal from his mother and sister. Kioko said that the man’s father Daniel Njoroge intervened and restrained his wife and daughter from serving the suspect with food claiming that he was indiscipline and a grownup who should be fending himself. This is said to have angered the 25-year-old who started engaging his father in a physical fight before attacking him with a penknife he produced from his pocket. “After a physical confrontation, the young man got a penknife from his trousers and stabbed his 53-year-old father on the chest and head before running away. Police have launched a man hunt for the assailant,’’ said Kioko. In a related incidence a 40-year-old man in Umoja estate is nursing injuries he sustained after he was roughed up by his wife for coming home late while drunk. Police boss Bernard Kioko said that Alex Odhiambo who reported an assault case at Lanet police station yesterday morning wants his wife Veronica Wambui arrested and charged with assault after she hit him on the head with a stool before pushing him hard on a rough perimeter wall at a residential area.
