Police have launched investigation into an incident where a woman was attacked and murdered under unclear circumstances in Kanorero village in Elementaita.
Loise Njoki, 30, is said to have gone to fetch water when she was attacked by a 70-year-old granny.
The deceased was reportedly hit with a hammer on the head. She collapsed and died on the spot.
The Tuesday incident left residents in shock and are now calling on the police to ensure the matter is investigated and justice served.
Neighbours said the deceased and the suspect have been friends for long.
The suspect was taken to Elementaita police station.
According to police, the suspect will be taken through medical examination to ascertain the state of her mind before she is taken to court to answer to murder charges.
The body of the deceased was taken to Nakuru County mortuary.
She is survived by two children a boy and a girl.
