Police have launched investigations into the tragic accident that claimed the life of Nyeri governor Wahome Gakuru.
Earlier reports indicated that the accident was caused by a tyre burst according to the Standard, police are leaving nothing to chance.
Already a team of officers has been dispatched to Murang'a County to begin the investigation.
Also in the team of investigations is a special wing from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
"Although we are treating it as an accident, we cannot rule out foul play. That's why we are investigating the matter thoroughly," said a police source quoted by the Standard.
