Police in Maseno are looking for a man who allegedly sold poisonous mutura to a student from Maseno University.Anne Cheptoo, a fourth-year industrial chemistry student is reported to have consumed the poisonous mutura on Thursday before developing acute stomach pains.Cheptoo was taken to Avenue Hospital, where she was admitted.The mutura trader, who was identified as Victor Odowa is reported to have taken off after realising that police were planning to arrest him.Several students have been complaining about the quality of foodstuffs sold by Odawa, citing lack of proper hygiene.Odawa has been selling mutura in Mabungo Estate for five months now.Addressing a group of angry students who were searching for Odawa’s house in Mabungo area, Maseno OCS K Langat assured the students that the suspect will soon be apprehended.The students, however, hit out at the OCS, accusing him of failing to handle their grievances seriously.The students have had a frosty relationship with the OCS after he allegedly failed to arrest a driver who knocked down and killed one of their colleagues in December 2017 at River-ridge area in Maseno.Is there a newsworthy accident, incident or event happening in Kisumu County that you want Hivisasa to cover?
