Police in Kajiado county have launched investigations, after hate leaflets circulated in Ngong, warning Kenyans of certain community to leave the town immediately, on Saturday night.The leaflets, some pinned on electricity poles, warned Kenyans of the Kalenjin, Agikuyu, Kisii, and the Ameru to leave the county or face dire consequences on August 8, during elections.
County Commissioner Harsama Kello, condemned the incident, and affirmed that a probe had been launched, to ascertain the source of the leaflets, the motive and persons behind them.
"This should be a warning to everyone attempting to divide Kenyans. We will arrest them regardless of their positions in the society," warned Kello, Sunday.
The incident comes after President Uhuru Kenyatta accused opposition leader Raila Odinga of inciting Kenyans.
He is on the spot for allegedly inciting residents in Kajiado not to sell land to 'newcomers', claims he dismissed.
