Police officers have launched investigations into the fire that razed a dormitory at Katelembu Centre of Excellence Boys High school in Machakos County.
Machakos County CID boss David Kirui on Thursday said they were investigating what caused the Monday evening fire.
"The fire broke out on Monday at around 6 pm, we will give full details on its cause once we complete investigations,” Kirui said.
Kirui said no one was injured in the incident since the students had been released for half term last week.
“No one was at the dormitory by the time fire broke because all students had gone home for half term,” he noted.
Kirui called on members of the public who witnessed the incident to help police with information.
“Those who witnessed the incident should help police with information so that investigations can be completed quickly,” Kirui said.
