Police officers in Kisii town have launched investigations after a woman aged 35 years was found killed in a lodging on Wednesday morning.

Kisii County police commander Hassan Abdi confirmed the incident and said it is not clear why the man who was seen with the woman into the lodging killed her.

"The lodging attendants told police that the woman was seen entering the lodging with a man who later killed the woman by strangling her," he said. 

The police boss said that it will be difficult to get the man as he did not leave any information about him.     

Abdi called on lodging attendants to start recording their clients so that it can be easy for one to be traced whenever a such incident occur.

"It is time lodging attendants to start taking down the names of their clients moving in and out so that it can help security officers in tracing those who can do such similar incidents in the future," he added.

He said the woman's identity has not be revealed because she had no identification documents.

The body of the woman was moved to the Kisii Teaching and Referral mortuary.
