A missing vehicle that vanished in Nairobi two days ago was on Monday recovered in an army barrack in Gilgil town.

The vehicle was recovered in the parking lot of the 66 battalion along the Gilgil-Nyahururu road.

"The car had been fitted with a tracker and the signal led the officers to the barracks and since they could not enter they sought the support of the police," a source is quoted by a local daily.

The driver of the lost vehicle a Toyota Belta car, Nicholas Kamuta, had parked it outside a bar in Pipeline estate in Nairobi when he found it missing.

However, police officers were left frustrated after the army officers failed to identify the individual who had parked the vehicle in the barracks.

The vehicle was later handed to the owner while investigations are still ongoing.
