NACADA boss John Mututho on Saturday linked cases of drug trafficking in Kenya to well connected cartels.
Muthutho was speaking in Naivasha after police arrested a 37 years old woman on Friday after she was allegedly found with heroin worth Sh10 million.
The woman was allegedly transporting drugs from Kampala Uganda to Nairobi in a Modern Coast bus. She was arrested along the Nairobi-Nakuru highway after police got a hint that there was a passenger suspected to be carrying drugs.
“We got information that a 54-seater bus travelling from Kampala passing through Busia had a passenger suspected to be carrying drugs stashed in brooms. We acted immediately, nabbing the woman at Muthuri area,” said Naivasha District Commissioner John Mbaya.
Mututho urged legislators to pass laws to make the Mututho Law and Nacada laws work independently and effectively.
Mututho is well known for his no nonsense attitude when it comes to the fight against drugs.
