Police in Mlolongo nubbed about 5 kilograms of unrolled bhang as well as more than 200 litres of illicit brew locally known as 'chang'aa' on a crackdown that was organized by the authorities on Saturday night.

According to the area chief Mr David Kalonzo, the police unsuspectedly patrolled an area called Kapa in Mlolongo, which has been famous for naughtorius illicit brewers and bhang peddlers and arrested eight suspects. 

"Police have arrested eight people who were found selling the prohibited goods as well as those found sniffing the bhang and drinking illicit brew," said the chief. 

The suspects were locked up in Mlolongo police station awaiting to appear before a court of law on Monday.
