The two were arrested in Maili Sita Estate where they had gone into hiding since Sunday last week after receiving the money from the woman.

Confirming the arrest on Thursday Nakuru Police Boss, Bernard Kioko, said that the two men duped the woman and even presented to her a fake title deed for the said piece of land.

“The two coned the woman Sh200,000 before they disappeared into thin air. They had promised to sell her a plot in Pipeline but soon after receiving the money their phones went off, but we tracked and managed to arrest them from their hideout in Maili Sita along the Nyahururu-Highway,” said Kioko.

Kioko added that the plot the two wanted to sell belongs to someone else and was not even being sold.

“They went and showed her the plot but the truth is that the plot does not belong to them and the owner was not even selling it,” said Kioko.

The two are expected in court Thursday afternoon to answer to charges of fraud and obtaining money through false pretence.
