A 40-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly sodomizing his son in Matungulu, Machakos County.
Albanus Makau was on Wednesday arrested by officers from Tala Police Station after it was reported that he had been sodomizing his eight-year-old class two son in Kyaume village.
The incident was confirmed by Kyaume Assistant Chief Francis Mulinge who said the man could have been doing the heinous act before he was nabbed.
"He is around forty years, wife died years ago. It's possible he could have been going on with the act before he was discovered," Mulinge said.
Mulinge told the residents to stop keeping quiet when such cases happen in the community or neighborhoods.
He said the locals should instead report to the nearest authorities for justice to be served.
"The biggest challenge about defilement and sodomy cases is that most of the cases are never reported. Maybe because of fear, intimidation or other reasons but no one should keep quiet. Instead, report and let the law take its course," Mulinge added.
He said the suspect is held at Kangundo Police Station awaiting arraignment in court as police conduct investigations.
The victim was treated and discharged at Kangundo Level Four Hospital.
