Police in Nakuru County on Wednesday netted 28 drums of methanol valued at 1.5 million shillings at Naka estate.
Acting on a tip off, police raided the home of Beth Njeri and recovered the consignment packed in drums of 250 litres each.
The suspect was arrested and taken to central police station before she was arraigned in court in the afternoon.
However, Beth Njeri denied the charge of being in possession of the methanol consignment whose tax had not been paid contrary to the East African customs act.
The offense was allegedly committed on December 21 2016 at Naka estate.
The accused was arraigned before Chief magistrate Joseph Burudi, denied the charges and was granted a 400,000 shillings bond with an alternative of 200,000 shillings cash bail.
She paid the cash bail and was released pending hearing of the case on Friday 23rd December 2016.
Immediate former NACADA chairman John Mututho who was present in court congratulated police for the swift act saying it was a great step in the fight against illicit brews.
He warned those in the business to change for the better and engage in other businesses.
