The police officer who was manning the main entrance to the county headquarters slapped a health department driver for allegedly parking at a prohibited place.

He claimed that he received the orders from his senior officer who he declined to name.

The driver claims that he was harassed by the police officer leading to a slapping incident after he attempted to pull him out of the vehicle.

The bitter driver while speaking to this writer defended his obstruction allegations saying that he was heating the car's engine before taking off.

He claimed that he had to request the county police commander Mwarungu Mwandoe to remain at the position after he wanted him to clear the place so that the car could heat.

"This officer came direct to me claiming that he had received orders from his seniors to clear the place and started to drag me out of my vehicle, he then slapped me on my cheeks for not moving out of the vehicle, he hurled a lot of insults to me,” said the driver.

Residents at the scene have called for a disciplinary action against the officer for using excessive force on a harmless civilian before they hold a demonstration.

"This is totally unacceptable and we want justice to be done, it is a big shame for the police office to slap a fellow government officer and we will organise a demonstration if he is not dealt with, it's an abuse of human rights", said one civil servant.

Meanwhile the sub county AP commander has called for calm as they investigate the matter and promised to exercise law.

“It's very bad and we are sorry for the harassment, please remain calm as we pursue the matter and I promise to follow the law to ensure that something of the kind does not happen again,” he said.
