A Kasarani police officer died instantly last night after he was hit by a metal rod by a gang of criminals who had stolen his car.
The police officer’s car had been stolen at Kasarani to Sunton as traced by the officer. However, when he confronted the gang, he was attacked, hit on the head and he succumbed to his injuries.
Police have launched a manhunt for the killers. No arrest has been made so far.
In other news, a thug was this morning shot dead by police after a botched robbery in Nairobi’s Ruai area.
Police say the suspect was in the company of other suspected robber who fled on foot after the confrontation. Police are still combing the area for traces of the escaped ones.
The suspected are taunted to be among a section of a criminal gang that has been robbing people in the area.
