Residents of Gitare village in Gilgil were treated to a rude shock after a police officer stabbed to death his lover's son after a quarrel.
The officer is said to have traveled from Nairobi to visit the deceased's mother in the village over the weekend when the incident happened.
He stabbed the 15 year old teenager once in the chest after the deceased questioned his presence in their home.
According to a neighbor, Jacob Kimani, the officer fell out with the teenager leading to a fight.
"The family was having supper but the deceased was not comfortable with the officer in their house. They engaged in a quarrel leading to the attck," said Kimani.
Ngige Mbugua, area chief said police are investigating the matter after the boy died on his way to hospital.
His body was taken to Gilgil sub county hospital mortuary.
