Police officers in Gilgil are searching for a man they believe killed a boda boda rider a fortnight ago.
Area police boss Serah Koki said the officers are investigating the matter after they found an identity card at the scene of the incident.
Koki said the investigators are trying to establish the owner of the identity card.
"Once police officers gets the owner of the ID, it will be easy to identify the killer. Members of the public should volunteer information to the police which will lead to the arrest of the suspect,"she said.
She noted that nothing was stolen from the victim.
She added that security patrols have been increased in the area ahead of the repeat presidential polls scheduled for Thursday.
