Mwangi was giving caution in Tala town on Thursday morning, during a routine meeting with Tala residents and the press, referring mainly to Chaume and Tala areas.

“There are officers who have already received hints from members of public on renowned sellers of bhang and illegal brews and are not taking the necessary steps. This has triggered the increasing sale of the drugs and more people beginning practicing the unlawful business because they know they will bribe the officers and avoid the law,” said Mwangi.

“I will not support such illegal activities but will instead ensure that the culprits are brought to book and face the law to discourage other people from indulging the same in future,” added Mwangi.

He called upon the area OCS Mussa Mboko to ensure that police officers arrest the perpetrators, as he accuse some of the officers of acquiring an arrest warrant but end up not arresting the said people.

“Corruption should not be tolerated. It is the sale of this drugs that are causing some of the inhuman acts like children raping, and even drug addiction,” added the officer.

He further cautioned the residents who were brewing the illicit drink that soon, the hand of the law would catch up with them.
