A number of police officers across the country are set to undergo training on how to curb hate speech mongers during the next general election.
National Cohesion and Integration Commission chairman Francis Ole Kaparo has said that the commission is working on a scheme that will track politicians at rallies with the aim of promoting national cohesion.
Kaparo said that officers will be issued with recording devices to nab hate speech from politician across the country ahead of the 2017 elections.
"The officers will be required to collect electronic evidence of hate speech comments to help in prosecution of suspects," said Kaparo.
"Inadeqaute funds make it difficult to reach violence prone areas . We had requested funds in the suplementary budget passed by the National Assembly but we did not get the money," added Kaparo.
Kaparo noted that his commission is committed to achieving its mandate at all costs.
