An administration police officer who survived seven gunshots has been promoted.
Corporal Bernard Karani was shot seven times in the abdomen during a bandit attack.
Siaya county commander Patrick Lumumba, who presided over the ceremony on Thursday, said the officer was promoted due to his bravery.
Lumumba called on other police officers to borrow a leaf from their colleague.
Thirty other police officers from the county were also promoted.
