Police in Kangema are on the hunt for a man who allegedly murdered his 39-year-old lover in a love triangle incident.
Peter Njuguna, 40, is said to have taken the life of Susan Wangari, his lover and mother of three, last week Saturday at Mithanga in Kangema subcounty.
Confirming the incident, Kangema OCPD Cosmas Wachang’oka revealed that police have launched a hunt for Njuguna.
The suspect allegedly had a five-year affair with the deceased whose husband died eight years ago.
According to family members, Wangari’s 13-year-old daughter was heard screaming at about 9pm and when neighbours rushed to her house, they found the woman in a pool of blood.
Her cousin Mary Njambi said Wangari succumbed to stabbings in the face and neck.
“Wangari’s daughter told us that the suspect, who had been a frequent visitor in their home, stabbed her mother repeatedly as she watched,” Njambi said.
The victim’s mother-in-law Elizipah Wanjiku also expressed shock at the incident and asked the police to bring the suspect to book.
“I want to find out why my daughter-in-law was so ruthlessly murdered and I want to see the suspect arrested and prosecuted,” she said.
Wangari’s burial will be conducted today.
