Police are currently conducting riot drills prior to the ruling set to be made by the Supreme Court on Friday. "You are also instructed to continue with riot drill practices so that we can be ready for any eventuality," read an internal memo sent to commanders as reported by The Standard.
All officers have also been ordered not to leave their work stations during and after the Supreme Court gives their ruling.
It is believed that the order was made to prevent any chaos that may be fueled regarding the Friday ruling.
Other measures implemented by officers include closing off different streets around the Supreme Court as the case reached day four.
On Tuesday, parking attendants complained of losses made after vehicles could not park along the streets.
City Hall way, Taifa Road and part of Wabera Street are among the streets set to stay closed after the court ruling started.
According to Nairobi police boss Japheth Koome the move was made to create a humble environment that would help the judges make their decisions.
