Machakos Deputy base Commander Paul Wanjohi has called on bodaboda operators in the area to be carrying one passenger only as required by the law.
Wanjohi speaking at Yumbuni, Yatta in Machakos county on Sunday, also called on the operators to obey traffic rules to avoid causing accidents.
“I am calling on bodaboda operators in this region to be carrying one passenger only. When you carry two or three passengers you have already overloaded that motorcycle,” Wanjohi advised.
Wanjohi was speaking on Sunday evening after confirming an accident that occurred between a bodaboda and a private car along the Katangi Yumbuni Road in Yatta.
Wanjohi said that the three people on the motorbike were injured in the accident and were rushed to Kathiani Health Centre before being transferred to Machakos level five hospital for further treatment.
“The motorbike was from Katangi when they collided with the Subaru Forester which was from the opposite direction. The people who were on the motorbike were all injured and they are admitted at Machakos level five hospital,” he said.
