Public Health officer Samuel King’ori on Wednesday revealed that the Police Post in question has all its toilets full, and they have been forced to convert a bathroom into a cell.

The Post which is situated in Solai, Subukia Constituency in Nakuru County lacks basic structures including a cell and generally fails to meet minimum public health requirements.

In a letter sent to the community Chairman, area Police Boss and the officer in charge of Ruiyobei Police Post said that the buildings are completely dilapidated with broken doors and lacks basic amenities including water and toilets.

In addition the Post which serves the residents in this area is manned by only three Police officers, a situation which poses a great challenge in maintaining security in the area.

However, the Health officers’ hands are tied as closure of this Police base is likely to jeopardised security in the area.

Speaking to one Charles Muhu a resident of Solai, he called upon the area Police Boss and the area MP to establish a solid Police base that can be fully entrusted with security of the public.

“The recent security lapse in the area can be partly attributed to this state of affairs in most Police Posts in the area,” said Muhu.
