Police in Migori have launched investigations into the death of an 80-year-old man whose body was found on Saturday after he went missing for seven days.
The deceased identified as Samson Nema was found lying on a bushy hill at Bamgot Village in Suna West by some of the locals who were fetching firewood.
The deceased's brother, Charles Wanyonyi, said he has been suffering from mental problems.
Wanyonyi revealed that Nema disappeared from home last week Sunday, and they have been looking for him until Saturday when they received information about his demise.
The family of the deceased said he might have died because of hunger.
There was no any physical injury to his body that could suggest that he was murdered.
Confirming the incident, the area Assistant Chief Fredrick Opiyo said they have launched an investigation into the death.
Opiyo, however, blamed the family for not reporting the disappearance of the deceased saying that he only learned about it when the body was found.
