Police in Muguga, Thika East are pursuing three men who robbed a lorry driver and his conductor off money on Saturday.
Thika East OCPD Daniel Chacha said the two were in a lorry transporting manure from Usweni in Kilimambogo to Makongeni in Thika when a gang stopped them at 3pm.
“The driver and his conductor stopped in Muguga after they found the road barricaded with huge stones before three men emerged from the bush," Chacha said.
"They forced them to surrender everything they had."
Chacha said one of the robbers was armed with a home-made gun as others wielded machetes.
“They ordered them out of the vehicle and forced them to lie on the ground," he said.
"They robbed the driver off Sh3,000 and a jacket and took away Sh10,500 from the conductor."
Chacha said officers on patrol from Munyu Administration Police post rescued the two and pursued the attackers who escaped into nearby bushes.
He urged the public to practice community policing and volunteer with any information that will lead to the arrest of the criminals.
