A middle aged man from Gekano village in Magombo Nyamira County is being pursued by police after he escaped police arrest.
The unidentified man was found in possession of 100 liters of chang’aa by the officers who were crackdown illicit brew in the region on Wednesday.
A police officer from Magombo AP post who declined to be named said they ambushed the man in his house after neighbors alerted them that the man has been making and selling chang’aa in the region.
“We were tipped by the neighbors that the man has been making chang’aa which he ferries to sell at the neighboring Kericho County.
"He is lucky he escaped arrest but we poured 100 liters of chang’aa he had packed ready to transport.
"We are still searching for him because he disappeared and left behind a cat with a blanket in a sack in what we suspect to be witchcraft,” said the officer.
The officer called on members of the public to report the man to police once they spot him in the village so that he can be arrested to be arraigned in court.
