Nakuru police have launched a manhunt to arrest three suspects who allegedly raped and killed a 30-year-old woman at Mwariki Pembe Mbili estate.
Confirming the incident, Nakuru OCPD Bernard Kioko said police officers received information from neighbours to the deceased, Jane Waithera, that her body was lying dead after being killed by unknown people.
''The deceased was brought into her house by the three men at around 1am on Wednesday while drunk. After getting into the house, the three men are claimed to have ordered her 11-year-old boy to sleep and threatened to kill him if he failed to obey the order or if he tried to alert neighbours of their presence,' 'said Kioko.
The boy also added that at unknown time after conducting the indecent act, the suspects woke up and ordered him to shut the door only for him to find his mother’s body inside the house.
However, the police boss said the boy identified one of the suspects known as Muchiri whom police officers said are tracing together with his associates.
"The boy could not rescue his mother following the threats. Police are coordinating with him to help in identifying the suspects," he said.
Elsewhere in Rongai Sub County, a body of a male adult was found by members of the public in the middle of the road at Aberdare shopping centre.
The body, according to the area police boss Joseph Mwamburi, had a deep cut on his head that was oozing blood.
The two bodies were taken to Nakuru Municipal mortuary.
