In Kisii County’s Suneka and Kerina, the police officers led by Kisii Central OCPD Tom Mutisyia and AP Chief Inspector Ronald Kirui destroyed confiscated more than 5,000 litres of kangara.
According to the OCPD Mutisyia, the specific places they raided have been notorious in the changa’a business. The netted liquor, according the officer, was to be supplied to a number of shopping centres in the county.
“Suneka sub-county has been known for its high drinking rates of illicit liquor and we had to make sure this one is stop at all cost,” said Mutisyia.
Inspector Kirui on his part said that the drink leads to several domestic conflicts apart from being a health hazard.
“We urge the community to avoid consuming this killer drink. Those involved in the brewing of the illicit brew should know that police will not rest until they are all arrested and charged in court,” warned Kirui.
Inspector Kirui urged members of the public to assist law enforcers in the fight against illicit brew business by giving information that would lead to the arrest of those who engage in the business within their vicinities.
