Police in Nakuru raided Flamingo Estate in Nakuru where they netted 60 litres of illicit brew in one house.
According to the Nakuru assistant County Commissioner Catherine Wangui Njoroge who led the raid, 25 litres of chang’aa and 35 litres of Kangaraa were netted at a house belonging to an alleged brewer.
“This morning together with my officers after a tip off from members of the public, we raided a household in Flamingo Estate where we netted 25 litres of chang’aa and 35 litres of Kangaraa. The owner of the house Agnes Wanjiru was also arrested and will be arraigned in court,” she said.
Despite facing hostile youths from the area leading to injury of one of the chiefs, she said they will not relent in the fight against illicit brew within Nakuru.
“I would like to warn the youths in Nakuru to shun the habit of engaging in drugs and alcohol abuse and rather join groups and make good use of the various funds set aside for them by the government,” she said.
