This comes after a class 3 kid at Igonga primary school was found stealing from a shop at Kasarani Shopping center.
Igonga administration police post boss Nicholas Omondi confirmed the incident and said the suspect is currently being held at the station.
“The minor is in custody to help us with his friends who he has been colluding with to steal before we will take a disciplinary action,” he said.
Omondi accused parents of failing to be good role models to their children.
“Parents are not taking seriously their responsibilities and this is the reason why the area has witnessed increased cases of theft in the region,” he said.
He noted that children aged between 6 –15 who have dropped school will be taken back to school.
“We will not allow minors to train to be criminals. The law must be obeyed by the old and young. Any child who has dropped out of school must be taken back to school because the government is offering free day primary and secondary education,” he added.
