Starting on Thursday, the crusade is aimed at not only evangelising but also at presenting the police officers as members of the society.

The crusade which kicked off yesterday at the Mama Ngina gardens attracted many citizens who came to witness police officers preaching the gospel contrary to their expectation.

Daniel Karaba, a resident in Thika said that it is very encouraging to see how the police have started engaging themselves with the public.

“The police will have the confidence of the public again if they go on dealing with the public in such forums. This way, they have started tending to the residents’ hearts and then assure them of services,” Karaba said.

The host chaplain Rev SP David Gatihu said they are determined to win more souls as they have a responsibility to preach the gospel to the residents and not only to fight crime.

“If we ensure that the residents have been drawn near to God, even our works as police officers will be easier as there will be reduced crime in the area,” Rev Gatihu said.

The forum is also going to be addressed by the central region administration police chaplaincy coordinator Rev SP John Kamau.
