Police in Narok have recovered an AK47 rifle with 25 rounds of ammunition at Tarakwet village in Esoit area, Trans Mara.
Area OCPD, David Wambua said officers who were on patrol in the area on Monday night heard gunshots in a near bush.
When the officers approached the bush they saw three people who fled when they noticed police were about to arrest them.
One of them dropped his gun as he escaped.
No arrests have been made so far but police are investigating the incident.
Currently, there is high tension in the area following several attacks between two communities.
Security patrols have been intensified to help restore peace and order.
On Sunday night, a 30-year-old man was killed in suspected retaliatory attack.
According to the police, people who attacked Tarakwet village on Sunday were on a revenge mission. About a week ago, another 50-year-old man was killed and his wife injured in Bogoria Village.
