Police in Turkana County have recovered more than 23 cows that were stolen from Isiolo last week
The police are believed to have recovered the animals from Turkana bandits who raided Leparua area in Isiolo on April 18 and stole 31 cows while abducting a 14-year-old who was herding them.
According to Isiolo County Deputy Commissioner, Mwachaunga Chaunga, police pursued the bandits and were able to recover the livestock after two weeks.
“Cases of cattle rustling have reduced considerably since the police started working closely with rangers from conservancies under the Northern Rangelands Trust,” said the Deputy County Commissioner.
Kital Arandile, owner of the stolen cows, thanked the officers and asked the police to ensure that the remaining animals have been recovered too.
