Police in Kisumu have recovered Sh4 million in the house of an alleged con-ritualist during a crackdown following a tip-off from the public.
This is after members of the public complained to the police, prompting them to raid the house and in turn rescued a victim who was bound to lose Sh4 million to the ritualist, Musa Osman alias Ndumba Ndumba.
A witness said the police arrived unannounced at 3pm to find only one client in the home.
“I was awakened by commotion when police stormed the house. It was at this point that the owner of the house escaped and I was left confused,” he said.
The ritualist had asked former banker Robert Otieno, the victim, to pay Sh5 million before his domestic problems could be rid of him.
“It had not hit me that I was being robbed. What was in my mind was that I was being prayed for because I have a myriad of problems,” said Mr Otieno.
Also found in the house were foreign currency notes, people’s photographs, and a list of the ritualist's former customers.
The suspect has not been arrested yet.
