A day after the National Police Service Commission nullified police recruitment results in 21 counties, some of those who had made it through the exercise have lost hope altogether.
Eliud Mathu, 24, who operates an M-Pesa outlet at Kabatini trading centre in Bahati constituency says that he does not intend to try it again considering that recruitment for Bahati was also nullified.
“Prior to last time, I had tried five times; four times for the administration police and one time for the Kenya Defence Force. This was my childhood dream but now it has been shattered,” said Mathu.
He was shortlisted and given a letter of appointment to join the Administration Police College in Embakasi during the last exercise. He informed his expectant wife that he had made the cut and she became overjoyed and collapsed, consequently having a miscarriage.
Mathu now says that he is a disappointed man having lost a child and now the recruitment being nullified.
He also confirmed that he never witnessed any bribery or favouritism during the entire exercise conducted at the Bahati grounds.
His soft spoken wife Rebecca said that she received the nullification news with shock as her husband had all along wished to join the disciplined forces.
