Police recruitment is currently underway across Uasin Gishu County with six constituencies serving as recruitment centres.
Adressing the press today, at 64 Stadium in Soi Constituency, Administration Police Commandant Wilson Maklap who was serving as the Chairman of the recruiting panel said that the exercise started smoothly.
“There has been a huge turnout of recruits to the respective centres from as early as early as 8am. We have not experienced any incidences or interference so far and the recruits are cooperating with us,” said Maklap.
He added that they are targeting to recruit ten administration police and 31 Kenya police from Soi constituency.
“From the targeted recruits, we expect to select one lady to join administration police and ten ladies to join the Kenya Police Service,” said Maklap.
He added that the exercise has been different from previous exercises since no officer was allowed to work at their stations but rather work on different stations.
All applicants are expected to be Kenyan citizens with a minimum qualification of D+ (plus) and have no criminal record or pending criminal charges.
Over a thousand youths turned up for the exercise in Soi, Ainabkoi, Turbo, Kesses, Moiben and Kapseret constituencies.
The exercise is expected to be concluded today at 5.00 pm.
