A police reservist was on Friday shot dead after cattle raid near Kambi Nyoka GSU camp in Samburu.

During the attack, two herders were also killed in the morning incident.

According to a witness who escaped, Joseph Lekatak an armed gang of between 40 and 50 rustlers ambushed them along the road.

"I heard a loud gun shot as cattle were heading beyond Kambi Nyoka for grazing," he said.

Samburu North OCPD Alphonce Munga said they are investigating the incident.
