Security officers found the consignment in the suspect’s house in Tala following a tip-off by members of the public.

Matungulu deputy county commissioner Patrick Mwangi confirmed police had informed him about the cache and urged them to expedite the prosecution of the suspect in court.

“I have received that information and directed the police to charge the suspect in court expeditiously,” said the DC.

But Tala OCS James Njiri said police were yet to process the charge sheet, and had extended the Sh20,000 police bond in favor of the suspect until Monday as they prepare to build a case against the suspect.

“In the event that we find no sustainable charge against the suspect, we will have no option but to set him free,” Njiri told journalists at Tala police station.
