Police in Kivumbini estate in Nakuru town Wednesday afternoon raided a chang'aa den and confiscated over 100 litres of illicit brew hidden under the bed.
Administration police who were working on a tip off from residents raided the house at around 1.30pm and found several jericans containing the liquor.
The owner of the house, Vincent Ouma, was able to escape arrest and police believe there was information leakage before the raid.
The heavily armed police officers broke into the house which was locked, and came out with several Jericans containing the brew.
AP Commandant Abraham Chemtai said police are committed to fight illegal brew and those who sell alcohol outside designated time.
He said illicit brew is dangerous since its manufacturers are not known and they may use anything as raw material even if it is poisonous to the consumers.
H also warned consumers that they face arrest should they be found buying or consuming illicit brew.
"My team will fight this vice to the end and I want to warn consumers that they will not be spared in the fight against illicit brew," he said Chemtai adding that illegal alcohol has contributed to insecurity in the area.
"Illicit brew is a major contributor to insecurity in Kivumbini, Manyani and Bondeni estates," he added.
