Police in Gachege Sub-Location on Tuesday morning seize over 5,000 litres of Chang’aa at Gatithio village.
Speaking after pouring the illicit liquor, area OCPD Edward Muranga said police arrested four suspected brewers during the crackdown.
“The brewing takes place near Gatithio village in a very remote location. We arrested four brewers and recovered two knives and a manufacturing tank,” said Muranga.
Muranga said the operation will continue until all the dens are shut down and suspects arrested and prosecuted.
He urged residents to report suspected brewers to the police, saying their days are numbered.
He revealed that two among the four suspects had spent Monday night on a drinking spree.
The suspects were taken to Gachege Police Station.
The OCPD vowed to continue with the crackdown until the brews are fully eradicated.
