The national government is set up to open up a police post at Ikorongo area in Masaba South sub-county to help in ensuring security along the border dividing Kisii and Kipsigis communities.

Speaking on Sunday, Kisii county police boss Agnes Mudambah said that the station has already been built at Ikorongo shopping centre with assistance from are MP Elijah Moindi. 

"We are visiting the post and soon we may send some administration officers to start-up operations," said Ms Mudambah. 

However, she said that calmness was returning at the border after weeks of fighting where thirteen people sustained injuries. Either, Mudambah stated that the government would prosecute suspects who are fond of causing the violence. 

"We have put everyone on notice, the government is ready to use all means to end such behaviours," added Ms Mudambah. 

Two suspects were arrested and have been charged in court.
