Police in Kisumu are in pursuit of two suspected carjackers after they escaped at Kenya-Re Estate with bullet wounds.
According to Area OCPD Mr Christopher Mutune, the three suspects hijacked a car at Milimani Estate at around 9.30pm while the owner was reporting to his home.
Mutune noted that the police got information fro the car owner and tracked the suspects down, adding that they refused to surrender leading to pursuit from the police officers.
At Kenya-Re estate, the three tried to escape but one was shot dead while the other two escaped with bullet wounds.
The car rolled several times at the time of the shooting.
“The suspects refused to surrender and engaged our officers in a long chase from the CBD. The officers caught up with them at the Kenya-Re Estate gate where one was shot dead while the rest escaped with bullet wounds,” Stated Munene as quoted by Daily Nation.
The locals have raised concern of the increased cases of criminality in the area and asked police officers to help tame the vice in the region.
The police are appealing to the public for information on persons with bullet wounds.
