Three tailors in Eldoret town are nursing gunshots injuries after they were allegedly shot by police on patrol.
They were in their shop when the incident happened.
24-years-old Felix Omondi who was shot in the rib, said the uniformed police officers ordered them to open the gate, claiming they were pursuing robbers who had run away.
Their pleas that they were innocent fell on deaf ears.
When the officers realised that the tailors were innocent, the officers collected the used cartridges and took the victims to a private hospital for treatment.
They then warned the victims against reporting the incident to the media.
One tailor is still admitted, whereas other two have since been discharged from hospital.
“We demand that police officers involved in the shooting be arrested for misusing firearms. They shot at us and inflicted serious injuries on our bodies,” said Otieno, one of the victims.
Eldoret West OCPD Samuel Mutunga confirmed the incident and assured that investigations were on-course to ascertain the claims.
