Two suspected criminals were on Monday night killed in Kahawa West, Nairobi. The two died on the spot after police shot at them.
They duo are said to have been involved in a botched robbery in Kiamumbi area when the police on patrol killed them.
''The two were riding on a motorbike and had been attacking and robbing pedestrians and motorists when an alarm was raised,'' said Victor Mwenje,a witness.
The Star reports that they tried to escape on a motorbike but police caught up with them. They were gunned down while on the motorbike as they set to take off.
Their bodies were taken to the City Mortuary while the stolen property was recovered and given to the owners.
Residents, however, say incidences of thieves attacking them and escaping on motorbikes have become rampant in the area.
They, however, called on the government to beef up security in the area.
