Nyamira residents and businessmen have been asked by Police to be cautious of fake currency in circulation in the county.
This comes after a suspect was arrested on Thursday in Kebirigo with Sh100,000 fake money.
Addressing journalist on Thursday in Nyamira town the Nyamira police commander Ms Rhoda Kinanu noted that businessmen in Nyamira County should cautious against fake money.
She said that they have been receiving complaints from businessmen about the exchange and distribution of fake money in Nyamira. She asked residents to alert police once they notice that a person has the fake money so that the suspect can be arrested as one way of reducing such cases.
“There are some people within Nyamira County who use fake money to con other people. I am asking my fellow residents and businessmen to be careful and keen against those fake money,” She said.
