The National Police Service has dismissed claims that it seeks to arrest 10 NASA politicians and officials.
This is after the High Court granted Sh100,000 anticipatory bail to the individuals and barred the police from arresting them on Tuesday.
The 10 include; Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho, Senators James Orengo (Siaya), George Khaniri (Vihiga) and Cleopas Malala (Kakamega).
Others include Homa Bay Woman Representative Gladys Wanga, MPs; Simba Arati, George Aladwa, and Babu Owino, businessman Jimi Wanjigi, NASA strategist David Ndii, NASA CEO Norman Magaya, and Oduor Ong’wen.
Justice Luka Kimaru directed the 10 to report to the Director of Criminal Investigations on Wednesday, February 7.
They had moved to court to bar the police and DCI from arresting them in connection to the controversial swearing-in of NASA leader Raila Odinga, on January 30.
The National Police Service, however, clarified that it was not after the 10.
"The National Police Service wishes to state that neither Hassan Joho, Jimmy Wanjigi, David Ndii nor the 9 others who have sought anticipatory bail are being sought as of now in connection with commission of any crimes," said the service.
"Those individuals should therefore not bother turning up at the DCI offices. They are not persons of interest to the Police as of now," it added on Twitter.
