"12 die along Thika - Garrisa road in a grisly road accident.
NGOLIBA SUB BASE:THIKA EAST DIVISION:
Reporting fatal TRA today on 17/12/2017 at about 20. 30hrs along Garrisa road. It happened that Matatu Reg. No. KCG 851L Toyota Matatu of Kinatwa Sacco was from Nairobi direction heading to Kitui.
Upon reaching Kilimambogo area while trying to avoid a head-on collision with unknown motorcycle rammed head-on with an oncoming lorry Reg. No. KAR 343S Isuzu lorry which was from opposite direction.
As a result, the matatu driver and his Ten passengers died on the spot. One person from the Isuzu lorry being trapped. Fire brigade at the scene trying to rescue the lorry occupant. Efforts to transport the bodies on progress.
