Police in Nairobi have stopped a NASA rally from taking place at the Kibera Jamhuri grounds.
They cordoned off the area to prevent NASA supporters from holding their rehearsal rally for Raila Odinga's grand welcome back from US.
This comes an hour after the government also sealed off Kamukunji grounds that was to be the venue for the meeting.
NASA leaders have however not taken the matter lightly, arguing that "police must known Kenya is not a banana state."
"It seems the government has forgotten... We already resisted and we can only continue to resist," said NASA through their Telegram page on Thursday.
The rally was to be held as the opposition prepares to welcome back Raila on Friday.
In response to the developments, Siaya Senator James Orengo vowed that "no force under the sun" would stop NASA from holding its activities.
